Auger seizes up

Just bought Pursuit 20 and never stays running. Auger is weak and won't pull longer pellets through. It has plugged up every single time. If I stand there and hand feed it works. Using camp chef pellets.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Solid

Nicer than I had anticipated. Works well and the features are great. It's a bit heavy for one person to handle as far as being "portable", but I prefer the superior quality so it's a non-issue for me.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not what I expected in a pellet grill

I received this grill as a 25th anniversary present from my company, and thought I would try the pellet smoking experience. I bought a bunch of different pellets from Academy, and went to work. The first thing I noticed is smoke was good for the first 5 to ten minutes, and after that smoke became almost nonexistent. The heat was concentrated in the center, with a little heat, getting out to the sides of the grill obviously, the center is where the pellets go to be combusted. There is a deflector plate above the burner that is supposed to radiate the heat out somewhat evenly, it does not do that job. What I ended up with ribs that were overcooked in the center somewhat normal at the ends with very little to no smoke. I tried using the direct flame to cook burgers with not so good results. I think the concept was well intentioned however you cannot use this as a grill because of how concentrated the pellets are in the center of the grill. It’s just common sense trying to smoke. Something would be great if it actually produce smoke. It does not so it’s been sitting for over a year outside while my stick burner gets all the use , I tried to sell it with no takers. I might just give it away. I guess since I got it for free essentially if my company wasn’t so cheap after 25 years, they could’ve given me a Traeger grill I heard those are pretty decent but for now, I am not going to invest in a pellet grill if it’s anything like this one. I hope camp chef gets his review and I would love to hear back from them on why they put out mediocre product like this that claims to be a pellet grill, but it’s merely nothing more than a below average pellet grill. I wouldn’t waste my money on this one perhaps it can get better if it was improved, but I would not waste my money. It’s cute that it’s portable and can be taken on trips, but I would much rather build a fire then waste my time with this disappointment.

No, I do not recommend this product.
