What Cook Gear Should I Pack for Yosemite National Park?

6 Must-Have Camping Gear For Your Trip To Yosemite National Park

Yosemite is arguably the most traveled National Park in California-and for good reason. Best known for its cascading waterfalls and towering Sequoia Trees, Yosemite has over a dozen public campgrounds making it a scenic, yet comfortable getaway. Let's ensure you've got the correct camp-cooking gear to make your trip to Yosemite memorable.

1. Mountaineer

Among other activities, Yosemite is home to tons of exhilarating water sports-river rafting, swimming, waterfalls, canoeing, etc. Our Mountaineer Cook System's aluminum body is ideal for humid climates and withstanding general wear from water-based activities due to its rust resistant properties. If you plan on embarking on any water-based day trips at Yosemite the Mountaineer is a great cooking option.

2. Camp Table

A portable camp table will serve you many purposes in central California. Use it to cook on with your Mountaineer tabletop cook system, then gather the family around and use as a dining table. Both the Sherpa Camp Table and Mesa Camp Table both have an easy-clean aluminum tabletop. The Sherpa Table offers four organizational compartments (including a waterproof lined ?sink' bin.) We've been told it's one of our most under-rated camp products.

3. Mountain Series Cook Set

Specifically made for our Mountain Series line (and the Mountaineer), the 4-Piece Cook Set is the perfect addition to your trip to Yosemite. The pot and fry pan will make breakfast, lunch, and dinner a breeze. Plus, you'll be thrilled with the portable storage between site locations.

4. All Purpose Chef Set

With all the activity planning that goes into a trip to Yosemite, sometimes we forget even the most basic of items. Conveniently packaged together, the All-Purpose Chef Set includes a mini cutting board, knife, spatula, serving spoon, and a pair of tongs-essentially everything you'll need to prepare your camp cuisine. Oh yeah, let's not forget plates, flatware, and drinkware while you're packing.

5. 4-Person Tent

BushnellTentSet up base camp with a Bushnell 4 Person FRP Dome Tent. It's large enough for a family of four (or one queen-sized air mattress) and roomy enough to house all your camping gear. Enjoy gorgeous dusky panoramic views of Yosemite from your tent by removing the rainfly and exposing the large mesh windows and ceiling. But, rest assured that you'll stay dry if inclement weather rolls in thanks to the weather resistant fabric and sealed seams.

6. Garbage Can

Not only does Yosemite have basic rules about trash and site cleanup, but we urge everyone to pack garbage bags and a garbage can to keep the trash in and the critters out. Try repackaging food to minimize the waste brought into the park. And as a general rule of thumb, if you bring it in, it's your responsibility to bring it out.
